Financing

Most potential buyers of our RV will not have cash lying around for the purchase of our rig. Hence, they would have to get a loan or loans. We are not in a position to be able to do "seller financing".

It appears that RV loans only cover the habitable portion of a rig. That is, an RV loan for a fifth wheel rig is only for the trailer. Separate financing would be required for the truck. In the case of our rig, the amount we need for the truck is relatively small. A buyer might be ahead to pay cash for the truck, and finance the trailer.

See the RV Mobile Office for Fulltiming: Price page for our asking price breakdown.

Our Loan: GEMB

Our loan is currently with GEMB Lending, Inc., which is owned by General Electric. We did not get the loan directly from GEMB ourselves. Our loan was originally from Ganis Credit Corporation which was acquired by E*Trade which was acquired by GE. Whew!

Our loan is NOT assumable. However, a GEMB customer service representative assures me that since GEMB already "has the collateral" (i.e., our trailer), a purchaser could get a loan directly through them a bit more rapidly (?) than elsewhere. Naturally I would need to provide the buyer with all pertinent information on the "collateral".
